With ECRI having a new look comes a new video describing the altered brand standards and the goals of the organization going forward. This was one of many in a video series that showed the new direction of the company.
I used a combination of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator to generate the motion graphics, flowing overlay and general video assembly. Overall project scope and direction were left up to me with the expectation of meeting the goals detailed in the initial project proposal and preparing regular updates on a bi-weekly basis. A key focus of the piece was to show the new direction of the organization, color schemes, and worldwide impact. The project proposal also called for coordinating and providing feedback to hired vocal talent and to work with fellow members of the Marketing and Media Services team to develop overall script direction and the animated 3D logo. The project was a success and premiered live in-front of the whole company during our brand launch event in early 2020.
OSF HealthCare wanted a video made that covered VTE, or Venous thromboembolism. It’s a blood clotting disease that needs proper care and procedure to manage. We wanted to use an art style that relieved some of the pressure and made the content easier to approach.
I used stop motion and Adobe Character Animator along with Lego figures to tell the narrative and inject, no pun intended, some humor into the video. People tend to be more receptive to messages with an element of joy or humor. Physicians are hardly the exception to this rule as this video has been one of our most viewed and well received pieces to date. I handled a majority of the camera work, scene setting, and timeline editing. I’m personally proud of the movie theater scene. The straw, which was just a bent paperclip, worked perfectly. I even did a little voice acting during the pizza and movie theater sequences.
This was used as a unique way to showcase snippets from our podcast series on social media and on our website and LinkedIn. Adobe After Effects was used to generate the graphics while a combination of Adobe Audition and Zoom were used to record and edit the podcast. The snippets were determined by coordinating with subject matter experts, the host of the podcast, the guests and myself.
